What God Can not Do According Because The Bible because they contradict His nature. with references

The Bible teaches that God is omnipotent (all-powerful) and that nothing is impossible for Him (Luke 1:37, Matthew 19:26). However, there are a few things Scripture reveals God **cannot** do because they contradict His nature. Here are some examples with references:

1. **God Cannot Lie**

   - *Titus 1:2* – "In hope of eternal life, which God, who cannot lie, promised before the world began."

   - *Hebrews 6:18* – "It is impossible for God to lie."

2. **God Cannot Be Tempted by Evil**

   - *James 1:13* – "Let no one say when he is tempted, 'I am being tempted by God,' for God cannot be tempted with evil, and He Himself tempts no one."

3. **God Cannot Deny Himself**

   - *2 Timothy 2:13* – "If we are faithless, He remains faithful—for He cannot deny Himself."

4. **God Cannot Act Contrary to His Holy Nature**

   - *Habakkuk 1:13* – "You who are of purer eyes than to see evil and cannot look at wrong."

These limitations are not weaknesses but rather affirmations of God’s perfect, unchanging character. While He has unlimited power, He does not act in ways that contradict His holiness, truthfulness, or faithfulness.

The Bible mentions a few more things that God **cannot** do—not because He lacks power, but because they conflict with His divine nature. Here are additional examples with references:

### **5. God Cannot Remember the Sins of the Repentant (When Forgiven)**

   - *Hebrews 8:12* – "For I will be merciful toward their iniquities, and **I will remember their sins no more**."

   - *Isaiah 43:25* – "I, I am He who blots out your transgressions for My own sake, and **I will not remember your sins**."

(This doesn’t mean God "forgets" like humans do, but He chooses not to hold forgiven sins against us.)

### **6. God Cannot Accept Worship with Evil Intent**

   - *Amos 5:21-23* – "I hate, I despise your feasts... Even though you offer Me burnt offerings, **I will not accept them**."

   - *Proverbs 15:8* – "The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the Lord."

(God rejects hypocritical worship because He cannot be manipulated or pleased by empty rituals.)

### **7. God Cannot Break His Promises**

   - *Numbers 23:19* – "God is not man, that He should lie, or a son of man, that He should change His mind. Has He said, and will He not do it?"

   - *Joshua 21:45* – "**Not one word** of all the good promises that the Lord had made to the house of Israel had failed; all came to pass."

### **8. God Cannot Let the Guilty Go Unpunished (Without Justice)**

   - *Nahum 1:3* – "The Lord is slow to anger and great in power, and **will not at all acquit the wicked**."

   - *Exodus 34:7* – "Yet He **does not leave the guilty unpunished**."

(This is why Christ’s sacrifice was necessary—God’s justice *had* to be satisfied.)

### **9. God Cannot Be Fully Comprehended by Humans**

   - *Job 11:7* – "Can you fathom the depths of God or discover the limits of the Almighty?"

   - *Romans 11:33* – "Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments!"

(His ways are beyond human understanding, though He reveals what we need to know.)

### **10. God Cannot Dwell with Sin Eternally (Without Redemption)**

   - *Revelation 21:27* – "Nothing unclean will ever enter [Heaven]."

   - *Habakkuk 1:13* (reiterated) – God’s eyes are "too pure to look on evil."

---

### **Key Takeaway**:

These "cannot"s highlight God’s **perfect holiness, justice, and faithfulness**—not limits to His power. As *Jeremiah 32:27* says, "Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh. **Is anything too hard for Me?**" The answer is no—except what contradicts His nature.
